Deontay Wilder crushed Sterverne in one rounds
Deontay Wilder left no doubt this time around.
He promised to knock out Bermane Stiverne, the only man to last the distance in 38 fights, and more than made good on his vow.
Wilder dropped Stiverne three times in the opening round, all with absolutely devastating shots, and referee Arthur Mercante mercifully pulled the titleholder off after the final knockdown.
“So much frustration, it just seemed like my career has been crazy, so many guys ducking and using PEDs,” said Wilder, who beta Stiverne to win the WBC heavyweight title in January 2015. “I just want to prove that I am the best. I know I’m the best. I just want to prove I’m the best.
“C’mon (Anthony) Joshua, no more ducking, no more dodging, let’s see who’s the best!”
