Once-beaten British prospect Luke Campbell, 12-1-0 (10 KO’s), who won a gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in the bantamweight division, is getting some very good work in the United States.
Campbell turned professional in April of 2013. And going on a very high run, he suffered his first professional defeat to Yvan Mendy on December 12, 2015.
Campbell is currently training to return on March 26th at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, Yorkshire. The event is headlined by IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, who defends his title against mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier of Canada.
When Campbell comes back to the ring, he will collide with countryman Gary Sykes in a twelve round bout for the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) lightweight title.
Campbell said it was a great experience to be in the ring with someone like Imam
Imam is also recovering from his first career defeat. He was the mandatory challenger to WBC champion Viktor Postol and made a decision to take a stay-busy bout with Adrian Granados last November. Things did not go as planned. After Imam dominated the action early, he ran out of gas and was stopped in the eight round of action.
